Joe Adorjan

joeMr. Joseph J. Adorjan, also known as Joe, serves as a Management Partner of Stonington Partners, Inc. Mr. Adorjan joined Stonington Partners, Inc. in November 1999. Mr. Adorjan has managed multi-business line operations with collective revenues in the billions and executed over 100 acquisitions and divestitures during his four-decade career. He served as a General Partner at Two Rivers Associates, L.L.C. Prior to that, from 1995 to 2000, Mr. Adorjan served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Borg-Warner Security Corporation. Previously, from 1992 to 1995, he served as the President at Emerson Electric Company and was responsible for the successful integration of the Fisher Controls Company into Emerson’s existing process control companies, creating Fisher-Rosemont. Earlier, from 1990 to 1992, Mr. Adorjan served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at ESCO Technologies Inc. (Formerly, ESCO Electronics Corporation). Before this, from 1968 to 1990, he held a variety of management and executive positions at Emerson Electric Company in finance, international planning, and acquisition and technology functions. He also served as the President and Vice Chairman of the Board. Mr. Adorjan has been a Director of Thermadyne Holdings Corporation since October 25, 2005. He serves as a Director of Goss Holdings, Inc., Goss Graphics Systems Inc., HK Systems, Inc., Patriot Coal Corporation and Ranken Technical College. He is the Chairman of Bates Sales Company and Adven Capital. Mr. Adorjan serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Saint Louis University. He has served as a Director on both private and public companies and has been actively engaged in both business and civic affairs. He served as a Director of Illinova Corporation. Mr. Adorjan received a Master’s degrees in Economics and a Bachelor’s from St. Louis University.
