Arindam Kar is a Partner at the international law firm of Bryan Cave LLP. His practice encompasses antitrust counseling, compliance, and investigations. Mr. Kar’s compliance practice includes the development and implementation of robust antitrust compliance programs for clients. As part of this practice, he regularly provides interactive antitrust compliance training for executives and employees of multinational corporations. Mr. Kar has extensive experience with counseling clients on complex global combinations, mergers and acquisitions in industries ranging from healthcare to heavy manufacturing. As part of his practice, he regularly represents clients in merger investigations before the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. Additionally, Mr. Kar coordinates and manages multijurisdictional merger filing strategies on deals that have global implications. Mr. Kar also has extensive experience in representing corporations and individuals in federal and state antitrust investigations.

Mr. Kar is also actively involved in firm initiatives and regularly serves in various leadership capacities. He currently serves as chair of the firm’s Thought Leadership Initiative, chair of the of the St. Louis office’s Recruiting Committee and he is the immediate past co-chair of the firm’s Lawyers of Color Affinity Group.

Despite a challenging workload, Mr. Kar maintains an active pro bono practice. He regularly represents refugees and clients seeking asylum in this country from various forms of persecution. He has also previously represented clients seeking orders of protection from those inflicting psychological and/or physical violence. Mr. Kar is a member of the Missouri Bar Association’s Pro Bono Wall of Fame.

In addition to the demands of his corporate and pro bono practices, Mr. Kar is engaged in strategic governance and volunteering with several philanthropic organizations. He is currently the Secretary of the Board of the Directors of the International Institute, the leading refugee resettlement agency in the St. Louis metropolitan area. Mr. Kar is also active on the Ethics and Conflicts Committee of Mid-American Transplant, the area’s organ and tissue procurement organization. He recently completed service on the boards for the United Way of Greater St. Louis and the Gateway Region YMCA, including a term as Board Chair of the Downtown Y where he helped facilitate the development of the new Downtown facility in addition to the exploration of further Y involvement in the Choice Neighborhood project. Mr. Kar is also engaged in diversity and inclusion efforts to promote, recruit and retain talent in the St. Louis region through his leadership in the Regional Business Council’s Young Professionals Network and the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity.

Mr. Kar is an alumnus of Saint Louis University and the University of Iowa College of Law, where he recently received the law school’s Alumni Service Award. He is also an alumnus of the St. Louis Business Diversity Initiative and Leadership St. Louis programs.  His body of work has been recognized in the St. Louis Business Journal’s “Diverse Business Leaders” and “40 Under 40” Awards.

Mr. Kar is a St. Louis transplant who proudly calls this community his home with his wife and five children.
